Acupoint herbal patches · Miao minority medicine

Small herbal patches the size of an acupuncture point, pronounced "owie", that work like strong needling without the needle. Place them where a practitioner would place a needle — a sore knee, a tight shoulder, a chosen acupoint — and the nineteen-herb blend opens the channel, warms it, and then nourishes. Patients take them home to keep a treatment working between visits.

  • Three stages of action: relieve pain and open the channels; warm and spread through the collaterals; nourish yang and remove damp.
  • Dragon's blood, notoginseng, borneol and safflower among nineteen herbs from the Miao tradition.
  • Pattern. Pain and cold-damp obstruction in the channels; local use.
