Where This Work Has Been Discussed

For those who want to know who is behind this work, where it has been taught, and where the conversation has been carried.

This is not a credentials page. The work speaks for itself when it reaches the body. But there are people who arrive here through a podcast they heard, a paper they read, or a teacher who pointed them, and they want to know where else this thinking lives. This is for them.

Andrew Miles, L.Ac, D.O.M.

Andrew began studying Chinese medical arts at fifteen. He continued formally with post-graduate education at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and through clinical work in Chengdu, China.

He is co-author of Enlightenweight: Cultivate the Garden Within with Xuelan Qiu, PhD, published by Herbmedrx in 2015. The book is also reviewed on Goodreads with a 4.07 average rating. He is also a contributing author of The Fibro Bible.

Andrew is the host of the Botanical Biohacking podcast, alongside Xuelan Qiu, PhD. The podcast is on Apple Podcasts, on Libsyn, and on YouTube Music. It explores the science and tradition of plant-based medicine.

He has been a guest on Brodie Welch's A Healthy Curiosity Episode 177: Microbiome Biohacking, and on her episode Chinese Medicine For Your Gut Microbiome.

He was profiled on Derek Loudermilk's Medical Catalyst, where he is described as a bridge between Chinese medicine and Western medicine, and between Chinese and American cultures.

His clinic work has been written about by Mayway Herbs, one of the oldest Chinese herb houses in the United States, in their piece on what Western practitioners can learn from East Asian clinical specialization.

His work is part of the curriculum at Chinese Medicine Education, and his approach to the Shang Han Lun has been discussed by Acupuncture Neurology.

Teaching

Andrew has taught at the Acupuncture Association of Colorado's 37th Annual AAC Conference and at numerous professional gatherings of acupuncturists and herbalists across the United States and abroad. His seminars cover the Shang Han Lun, internal medicine, microbiome work, and the bridge between classical Chinese medicine and contemporary research.

Brehan Crawford, L.Ac

Brehan is the founder of Crawford Wellness in Oregon. He is internationally recognized for evidence-based treatment of complex digestive and autoimmune cases through Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In conversation

Brehan has been interviewed on Wellness Renegades Episode 10 by Jason Stein, on the lessons learned from building a 100K+ TikTok following while practicing Chinese medicine.

He spoke with Brian Gryn on A More Accurate Approach to Gut Health: Navigating Digestive Distress with TCM.

He has appeared on Rebellious Wellness Over 50.

He has been featured by Hypermobility MD in her work on hypermobility, MCAS, and the pieces most practitioners are missing.

Will Sheppy, L.Ac, of Valley Health Clinic

Will has written about the work we do here in several places:

His clinic's longer-form work Vasomotion cites Andrew Miles and Xuelan Qiu as foundational.

The lineage

Xuelan Qiu, PhD is Andrew's co-author and the scholar behind much of the formula reasoning. Her work is the seed from which much of what is on this site grows.

Mayway Herbs has carried Chinese medicine since 1969, and is one of the most respected herb houses in North America. They have written about Andrew's clinical approach.

Treasure of the East and Botanical Biohacking are sister brands. Their quality testing and sourcing carry into every Chorus product.
